How this works
The answer in the first paragraph
The heaviest-weighted trait. A model lifts a passage that stands on its own. If the answer only arrives after three paragraphs of preamble it does not get quoted — even when it is correct. Definition sentences ("X is …") are the single most quoted format.
Lists and tables
For comparison and pricing questions, AI answers reach for structured sections first. A three-row table is more citable than the same content buried in prose.
Evidence and freshness
Numbers with a named source and a visible date raise the chance of being picked up. A claim without evidence competes with hundreds of identical sentences; one with a figure and a source does not.
What is not checked here
This page scores the text. Whether an AI sees it at all depends on crawler access, indexability, and whether the content is in the HTML without JavaScript — that is what the full check covers.
Frequently asked questions
- Should I paste text or HTML?
- HTML is more accurate, because headings, lists and tables are recognised. Plain text is converted approximately: paragraphs to paragraphs, dashed lines to lists.
- Is this the same score as on the homepage?
- The same scoring logic and the same weights, but only the content half. The full GEO Score adds the technical half: reachability, crawler access, schema, JavaScript visibility.
- What is a good value?
- From 75 upwards a passage is readily quotable. Below 50 the essential piece is usually missing: a clear answer right at the start.
- Is my text stored?
- No. The assessment runs in your browser; the text is not sent anywhere.
